The Opportunity

Our Mine Engineering and Stability team are seeking a Graduate Geologist to join the team. This is a challenging role that will see you contribute to the delivery of innovative and effective technical solutions to both internal and external clients within the resources/mining sector.

What you will do

  • Collect and interpret geological and geotechnical data as part of site investigations;
  • Visualise and interpret geological and geotechnical data using 2D and 3D geological software;
  • Support geological modelling and resource estimation projects across a range of commodities;
  • Support the preparation of proposals, tenders, memorandums, reports and other technical deliverables;
  • Identify safety hazards, report OH&S incidents and conduct all work in a safe manner;
  • Conduct all work to satisfy company, client and government conditions, policies, procedures, regulations, and standards.

What we will love about you

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Geology or related discipline;
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the industry accepted mine planning and geology software packages e.g. Vulcan, Leapfrog, Surpac or Datamine highly desirable;
  • Python programming experience;
  • Experience within a mining environment will be highly regarded;
  • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team of professionals;
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail.
